KPDCL Announces Major Power Shutdown in Srinagar and Baramulla Districts; Check Dates and Affected Areas

SRINAGAR, MAY 14, 2026 — The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several districts to facilitate essential maintenance and repair work on 33 KV transmission lines. According to the official notification, residents in Baramulla’s Old Town, Azad Gunj, and Janbazpora will experience outages from 9 AM to 3 PM on May 19 and 21, while the LJHP Uri and Boniyar lines will affect areas like Salamabad, Uri town, and Trikanjan between May 18 and May 23. Similar outages are scheduled for Watergam, Chandoosa, and Delina on varying dates, including May 16, 19, and 23.

In Srinagar and Ganderbal, power supply to localities such as Khanyar, Miskeenbagh, Lar, and Tulmulla will be disrupted on May 16, 18, 20, and 21, with some sessions lasting from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Furthermore, significant shutdowns are planned for Bandipora, Sumbal, and Kangan areas on May 17, 18, and 25 to cover vital repairs on the Potushai, Nihalpora, and Shariefabad-Wadwan lines. KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected regions, including those near JLNM Hospital, Sainik School, and various PHE and irrigation stations, to plan accordingly for these six-hour daily maintenance windows.
