Two Arrested in Poonch for sacrilege act

Jammu, Sep 1: Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a case of sacrilege reported from the Kuniyan locality of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials confirmed on Monday that a vehicle allegedly used in carrying out the act has been impounded.The duo has been booked under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which addresses offenses involving intentional and malicious attempts to offend religious sentiments.

Police also stated that efforts are underway to apprehend other suspects linked to the case.
