Surya Disposers start white water rafting expedition on Ganga

RISHIKESH, May 10, 2026:- The Chief Engineer of the Headquarters Central Command officially flagged off a white water rafting expedition for the Surya Disposers to celebrate the unit’s Platinum Jubilee.

This milestone event highlights the unit’s long-standing history of service and pride as they embark on a journey that combines physical challenge with a celebration of their legacy.

The expedition covers a demanding 145 km stretch along the Ganga, starting from Rudraprayag and ending in Rishikesh. Throughout the route, the team will navigate difficult Grade III rapids, testing their technical skills and physical limits against the powerful river currents.

This journey serves as a demonstration of the courage, endurance, and teamwork inherent in Indian Army soldiers.

By facing these demanding riverine conditions, the participants showcase the grit and confidence required to handle high-pressure environments, further strengthening the bonds within the unit.

Operating under their motto Dridhta se Nipunta, which translates to Excellence through Determination, the Surya Disposers aim to inspire others through this display of resilience.

The expedition stands as a testament to their professionalism and the enduring soldierly spirit that has defined the unit for seventy-five years.
