Jammu Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Inspects Pilgrim Facilities at Bhagwati Nagar Ahead of Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026

JAMMU, JULY 01, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu on Wednesday to review the administrative and security arrangements established for pilgrims ahead of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor conducted a comprehensive appraisal of essential infrastructure, inspecting logistics, lodging, security protocols, health facilities, help desks, sanitation, power, and water supply to ensure a seamless and hassle-free experience for the arriving devotees.

To efficiently manage the expected heavy influx of pilgrims, he directed officials to enhance manpower management and ordered regular public announcements at both the Bhagwati Nagar transit camp and the Tawi Riverfront so that yatris receive vital information in a timely manner.

During the inspection, the Lieutenant Governor also interacted directly with the devotees of Baba Barfani, offering his best wishes for a safe, peaceful, and blessed pilgrimage. The 57-day long annual pilgrimage is scheduled to officially commence on July 3, 2026, from the designated base camps along both traditional routes, eventually culminating on August 28, 2026.

The initial batch of pilgrims will be formally flagged off by the Lieutenant Governor from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas on July 2. Accompanying him during the review were senior civil administration, police, and security force officials, including DGP Nalin Prabhat, Special DG Coordination PHQ S.J.M. Gillani, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP CRPF Jammu Sector Amol V Homkar, IGP Traffic M. Suleman Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Rakesh Minhas, and Municipal Commissioner Jammu Devansh Yadav.
