Reasi police to dispose of vehicle seized in drug case

REASI, July 1 — The Reasi police have initiated legal proceedings to dispose of a vehicle that was seized during a drug trafficking case. This move is part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, which aims to eradicate drug abuse and illegal narcotics trade from the region.

The police secured an official order from the Munsiff Court in Katra under Section 52-A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The order authorizes the disposal of a vehicle with registration number JK02BV-7877.

The vehicle was confiscated in connection with an earlier police case registered under various sections of the anti-drug law.With the court order secured, the police can now proceed with the formal disposal of the asset in line with statutory requirements.

Authorities stated that this measure is aimed at dismantling the transport infrastructure utilized by drug traffickers. The Reasi police reiterated their commitment to maintaining a strict crackdown on drug peddlers to ensure a drug-free district.
