Manoj Sinha Strengthens Security and Anti Drug Strategy in Jammu Review
JAMMU, APRIL 29, 2026:- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha led a high-level meeting today with Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police from the Jammu Division to evaluate the regional security landscape and the progress of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan.
During the session, Sinha emphasized the need for a fortified security grid, demanding seamless coordination among all security forces to create an impenetrable shield against emerging threats.
He issued a clear directive for zero tolerance against individuals and underground workers providing shelter to terrorists, stressing that the strictest possible legal actions must be taken to ensure national security.
The meeting also focused heavily on the upcoming pilgrimage season, including the Amarnath Ji, Kausar Nag, and Budha Amarnathji Yatras. District heads provided detailed briefings on their respective preparations to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees.
Sinha instructed officials to conduct comprehensive reviews of all arrangements and urged the regular hosting of Block and Thana Diwas events to maintain a direct line of communication with the public and resolve local grievances effectively.
Addressing the challenge of substance abuse, the Lieutenant Governor called for a whole-of-society approach to dismantle drug networks. He directed officials to identify narco-corridors and hotspots within the Jammu Division for targeted enforcement.
To better understand the crisis, he mandated a study on region-specific substance abuse trends using a Vulnerability Index based on World Health Organization methodology.
Additionally, the administration was tasked with accelerating the Vibrant Villages Programme to enhance rural health and economic upliftment, including a mandate for total screening for non-communicable diseases.
