Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi honors distinguished veterans with Veteran Achievers Award
REWA, April 28, 2026 — COAS Upendra Dwivedi presented the Veteran Achievers Award to four retired military personnel during his visit to Rewa, recognizing their significant contributions to social welfare and nation-building.
The ceremony highlighted the continued dedication of veterans who have transitioned their leadership skills into impactful community service. Among the awardees was GP Singh, who served as the Officer-in-Charge of the ECHS Polyclinic in Rewa.
During his tenure, he transformed healthcare access for local veterans by empanelling four super-specialty hospitals and modernizing laboratory equipment, leading to a marked increase in patient satisfaction in the region.
The felicitation also recognized the grassroots efforts of Yogesh Kumar Tiwari, who has dedicated his post-retirement life to rural empowerment. By establishing a specialized stitching training center, he has provided vocational skills to over 500 women across the Rewa Division, fostering financial independence and community growth.
His digital initiatives and consistent focus on social causes have made him a prominent figure in regional development. Similarly, Anil Kumar Tiwari was honored for his entrepreneurial success in launching a security services agency that exclusively hires former service members.
His venture currently employs approximately 500 veterans, ensuring continued economic stability and professional purpose for those who have served the nation.These awards underscore the military’s belief that service to the country remains a lifelong commitment that extends far beyond active duty.
