Fire and Fury Corps Veterinarians Launch Animal Welfare Initiatives and Health Camps Across Ladakh

LEH, APRIL 25, 2026: To commemorate World Veterinary Day, veterinarians from the Fire and Fury Corps spearheaded a comprehensive series of outreach and animal welfare programs across the Ladakh region.

A major Veterinary Health Camp was organized at Karu, where medical check-ups and treatments were provided to over a hundred pets, ensuring essential healthcare access for the local animal population.

In a significant partnership with the Animal Husbandry Department of UT Ladakh, the Corps also executed a week-long Animal Birth Control and Anti-Rabies Vaccination drive. This collaborative effort aimed at managing the stray animal population and enhancing public health safety through wide-scale immunization against rabies.

In addition to clinical services, the initiative focused heavily on community education and preventive awareness. Expert veterinarians conducted a series of interactive lectures at Tashi Paljor Memorial Government Higher Secondary School in Shakti and the Army Goodwill School in Pratap Pur.

These sessions educated students and staff on critical topics such as rabies prevention, responsible pet ownership, and the proper management of dog bites. By combining active medical intervention with educational outreach, the Fire and Fury Corps reaffirmed its commitment to the health of both the livestock and the local communities living in the high-altitude terrain of Ladakh.
