Jammu and Kashmir Police arrest ten drug peddlers and recover contraband across Kashmir Valley

Srinagar, April 25, 2026:- As part of the ongoing 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested ten drug peddlers and recovered significant quantities of contraband and psychotropic substances across several districts.

In Anantnag, police apprehended four individuals, including a chronic peddler, and seized over 5.8 kilograms of charas-related substances during various operations at Chatergul, Anchidora, Aishmuqam, and Sangam. Meanwhile, in Sopore, two suspects were taken into custody after being found in possession of Spasmoproxyvon capsules and charas during patrolling and checkpoint duties at Chinkipora and Shiva Crossing.

The crackdown extended to Baramulla, where police intercepted a vehicle at Kreeri and arrested an individual carrying 87 psychotropic tablets, leading to the seizure of both the drugs and the vehicle used for transport.

In Awantipora, a resident of Sharshalli was caught with heroin-like substances during a checkpoint search at Seer Colony. Additionally, Pulwama police arrested two men traveling on a motorcycle at Eidgah Crossing after recovering over 370 grams of charas powder from them.

All accused have been booked under relevant sections of the law, and investigations are currently underway to trace the supply chains and wider networks involved in these illegal activities.
