Srinagar Police attaches drug traffickers assets worth over three crore rupees under NDPS Act
Srinagar, April 25, 2026In an intensified crackdown on drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the Srinagar Police has attached immovable properties valued at 3.5 crore rupees belonging to identified narcotics smugglers.
The action was carried out by the Sangam Police Station under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. These properties are linked to two accused individuals involved in a 2025 narcotics case and have been identified as illegally acquired assets generated through the proceeds of drug trade.
The attached assets include a double-storey residential house and one kanal of land belonging to Shakeel Ahmad Ganie in the Noorbagh area, valued at over 2 crore rupees. Additionally, a similar residential property and land belonging to Farooq Ahmad Mir, also a resident of Noorbagh, was attached with an estimated value of 1.5 crore rupees.
Authorities stated that these stringent measures are intended to dismantle illegal narcotics networks by targeting the financial foundations of offenders. The police have reaffirmed their commitment to a drug-free society and urged the public to continue sharing information regarding illicit drug activities.
