Divisional Commissioner and IGP Jammu Evaluate Progress of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan 100 Day Campaign

JAMMU, APRIL 22: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar and Inspector General of Police Bhim Sen Tuti convened a joint meeting today to assess the ongoing progress of the 100-day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan campaign throughout the Jammu Division.

The session, attended by Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police from all districts, focused on the effectiveness of wide-ranging awareness activities being conducted at the grassroots level.

Officials noted that the campaign has successfully reached the panchayat level through rallies, school competitions, and community discussions aimed at eradicating drug abuse from society.

The administration has implemented a multi-pronged strategy that includes the identification of drug hotspots and the enforcement of strict legal action against peddlers.

A significant component of this initiative is the formation of Mahila Nigrani Samitis in every panchayat and ward to provide critical feedback and support for the anti-drug drive.

Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar instructed district heads to prioritize the rehabilitation of victims by ensuring they receive proper medical care and institutional support, while also maintaining a strict vigil over de-addiction centers to prevent the operation of unauthorized facilities.

During the meeting, IGP Jammu called for innovative methods to dismantle drug trafficking networks and emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to stop the spread of narcotics.

A new initiative titled the I am Clean campaign was introduced to encourage individuals to declare themselves drug-free and participate in community-led recovery efforts.

Participants proposed several strategic measures, including the monitoring of digital billing and CCTV surveillance at chemist shops to curb the illegal sale of prescription drugs.

The Divisional Commissioner concluded by urging officials to adopt these novel ideas to ensure tangible and lasting results in the fight against drug addiction.
