Western Army Commander Bolsters Security Ties and Reviews Border Readiness in Kathua and Jammu
JAMMU, April 22, 2026 — Taking a hands-on approach to regional security, the Western Army Commander, Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh, recently visited the Bani-Macchedi sector in Kathua to personally connect with troops and evaluate operational readiness.
During his time on the ground, the Commander praised the soldiers for their sharp professionalism and tireless dedication, noting that their high spirits and alert posture remain the backbone of the region’s safety.
Beyond the front lines, the Western Army Commander moved to Jammu to foster deeper cooperation between the various agencies keeping the peace. By meeting with top leadership from the Police, BSF, CAPF, and civil administration, he highlighted the human element of security: the necessity of trust and seamless teamwork.
