J&K Education Minister Sakeena Itoo Condoles Tragic Death of Jammu College Student in Udhampur Bus Accident
JAMMU, April 16, 2026 — Sakeena Itoo, the Minister for School/Higher Education, Health & Medical Education, and Social Welfare for the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, expressed her profound grief today following the untimely demise of Anjali Choudhary, a young student from the Government College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning near Udhampur while the student was en route to Patnitop for a college picnic. According to reports, Anjali, a 4th-semester student, sustained fatal injuries after falling from a moving bus approximately one kilometer before reaching Udhampur around 10:30 am.
In a statement shared via her official X (formerly Twitter) account, Minister Itoo conveyed her “heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, friends, and the entire college fraternity” during this period of mourning.
Highlighting the government’s response to the tragedy, the Minister confirmed that she has directed the relevant authorities to provide all necessary assistance and support to the bereaved family.
“May her soul rest in peace,” she added, reflecting the somber mood of the Government as they address the aftermath of the accident.
