Chaired by Kalpana Revo, Principal District & Sessions Judge and Chairperson of DLSA Udhampur, the session focused on identifying and reviewing the cases of under-trial prisoners to expedite the release of eligible individuals who have faced prolonged detention.
The committee meticulously examined cases based on the stringent guidelines issued by the Supreme Court and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), prioritizing those prisoners who lack adequate legal representation or have been held for extended periods awaiting trial.
The meeting was attended by key administrative and judicial figures, including Sumati Sharma, Sub-Judge/Secretary DLSA; Prem Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur; Sandeep Bhat, Additional Superintendent of Police Udhampur; Mohammad Irfan Khan, Superintendent of District Jail; and Pawan Gupta, Chief LADC.
