Indian Army Hosts Medical Camp for Gorkha Veterans at Indo-Nepal Border

NAUTANWA, April 13, 2026 — Under the guiding principle of “Care that knows no borders, Commitment that never fades,” the Gorkha Recruitment Depot recently organized a comprehensive medical outreach program in the border village of Nautanwa.

This initiative was specifically designed to provide essential healthcare services to Nepal Domicile Gorkhas and Indian domicile ex-servicemen residing along the India–Nepal frontier.

By bringing medical expertise directly to this remote region, the Indian Army reaffirmed its enduring dedication to the welfare of its veterans and their families, ensuring that those who served are never forgotten regardless of their geographic location.

The medical camp, executed in close collaboration with a local NGO, featured a robust team of civil medical professionals, including specialized lady doctors and nursing staff.

Throughout the event, more than 200 beneficiaries received high-quality healthcare, ranging from primary consultations to necessary treatments and follow-up care.

This localized effort is particularly significant in border areas where access to specialized medical facilities can often be limited. By facilitating these services, the Indian Army continues to bridge the gap in veteran support, providing a vital lifeline to its retired personnel and their dependents.

Beyond the immediate clinical benefits, the initiative serves as a powerful symbol of the “unwavering resolve” the Indian Army holds for its soldiers and their legacies.

These outreach programs do more than just treat physical ailments; they actively deepen the bonds of trust and mutual respect between the military and the veteran community.

Furthermore, by supporting Gorkha veterans in the border regions, the program reinforces the historic and cultural ties shared between India and Nepal, strengthening a legacy of cooperation and brotherhood that has defined the relationship for generations.
