Future of Combat Medicine: 123 Officers Commissioned as Medical Officers Basic Course Concludes at AMC Centre

LUCKNOW, April 11, 2026 — Marking a significant milestone for the Indian Army’s medical wing, a vibrant ceremonial parade for the Medical Officers Basic Course (MOBC) Serial No 256 was held today, celebrating the induction of 123 young Medical and Dental Officers into the service.

The graduating batch, which notably included 38 Lady Officers, demonstrated exceptional discipline and precision as they marched in perfect unison at the AMC Centre and College.

The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General Shivinder Singh, Commandant of the AMC Centre and College, who commended the graduates for their transition from civilian medical professionals to disciplined military officers ready for the rigors of the field.


Addressing the newly commissioned officers, Shivinder Singh exhorted them to uphold the highest standards of the medical profession by serving with compassion, humility, and unwavering dedication.

The ceremony also recognized individual excellence, with Captain Sahil Tanwar being adjudged the Best All-Round Officer of the course for his outstanding performance across all training modules.

Having undergone rigorous instruction in military ethos, combat medicine, Combat Casualty Care, and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), these officers are now fully equipped to provide critical life-saving care in challenging environments.

This graduation reinforces the Indian Army’s medical readiness, as these 123 officers depart to serve the nation with distinction across various formations.
