Director FCS&CA Jammu Inspects Central Food Store: Orders Immediate Infrastructure Repairs and Enhanced Hygiene
JAMMU, April 10, 2026 — Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Director of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Jammu, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Central Food Store at Bikram Chowk today to evaluate the department’s operational readiness and storage standards.
During the visit, the Director scrutinized the current stock levels of food grains, reviewed official records, and verified the functionality of the facility’s CCTV surveillance system.
Emphasizing that the integrity of departmental stocks is paramount, he issued a set of rigorous directives aimed at modernizing the store’s upkeep and ensuring that essential food supplies remain protected from environmental damage and pests.
The Director underscored the importance of professional inventory management, instructing supervisors and storekeepers to implement a systematic stacking protocol and to immediately remove all obsolete or unserviceable items.
Beyond organizational efficiency, a heavy emphasis was placed on facility hygiene and structural integrity; consequently, orders were issued for the immediate repair and renovation of damaged godown sections to prevent any spoilage of the ration.
