West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026:DG CRPF GP Singh Reviews Security Preparedness in Siliguri

SILIGURI, April 10, 2026— In a major push toward ensuring a seamless electoral process, the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), G.P. Singh, IPS, chaired a high-level strategic review meeting at the Group Centre in Siliguri today.

With the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 fast approaching—scheduled to begin on April 23—the DG met with Nodal Officers from various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to fine-tune security blueprints and operational readiness across the region.

During the session, DG Singh emphasized a three-pronged approach to the upcoming polls, placing a heavy premium on troop welfare to ensure personnel remain supported and motivated while on the ground.

He issued stern directives regarding Strict compliance with all Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines, underscoring that the integrity of the democratic process rests on professional conduct.

Reaffirming the force’s commitment to a “zero-tolerance” policy toward electoral disruptions, the DG urged officers to leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of free, fair, and peaceful polling. The meeting concludes a series of high-level security audits aimed at stabilizing sensitive zones ahead of the multi-phase elections in the state.
