Gaganyaan Mission Milestone: ISRO Successfully Completes Second Integrated Air Drop Test (IADT-02)

New Delhi April 10, 2026 :-In a decisive step toward launching India’s first human spaceflight, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully executed the Second Integrated Air Drop Test (IADT-02) at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota.

The achievement was lauded by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, who took to social media to congratulate the scientific community on this critical technical breakthrough.

This specific test is vital for validating the parachute deployment systems and the recovery procedures of the crew module, ensuring that Indian astronauts can return to Earth safely during the upcoming Gaganyaan mission.

The successful completion of the IADT-02 marks a major milestone in the mission’s development timeline as ISRO prepares for the historic crewed flight scheduled for next year.

By simulating the descent phase under realistic atmospheric conditions, the test confirmed the structural integrity and functional reliability of the landing systems.

Dr. Singh emphasized that this accomplishment underscores India’s growing readiness for deep-space exploration and its commitment to indigenous aerospace excellence.

As the Gaganyaan project gains momentum, such successful trials solidify the groundwork for India to join the elite group of nations capable of independent human space travel.
