Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo Reviews Essential Fuel and LPG Stocks to Ensure Supply Chain Stability
JAMMU, APRIL 09, 2026: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a high-level meeting with administrative secretaries and district officials to assess the availability of essential commodities across Jammu and Kashmir, specifically addressing potential supply chain disruptions due to the evolving geopolitical situation in West Asia.
During the session, data confirmed that the Union Territory maintains stable reserves of petrol, high-speed diesel, and LPG, with significant additional stocks currently in transit. Atal Dulloo emphasized the need for strict monitoring and ordered immediate action against any instances of hoarding, overpricing, or black marketing.
He also underscored the importance of maintaining a 70 percent supply to the commercial and industrial sectors while directing district administrations to bridge delivery gaps and expedite e-KYC for active consumers to ensure seamless distribution.
Saurabh Bhagat, Commissioner Secretary of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, informed the meeting that robust measures are in place, including the availability of 5 kg cylinders for migrant laborers.
In the Jammu Division, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar reported a stock of 7,325 KL of petrol and 27,241 KL of diesel, alongside a 49-day cover for kerosene and 12 days for aviation fuel.
Meanwhile, in the Kashmir Division, Divisional Commissioner Anshul Garg stated that the region holds 7,721 KL of petrol and 13,487 KL of diesel, providing a reserve cover of up to 21 days, with LPG stocks ensuring a 16-day supply.
Atal Dulloo reassured the public that the Union Territory is well-prepared with sufficient reserves, urging citizens not to panic as the existing stock levels are more than adequate to maintain normalcy throughout the region.
