Jammu Development Authority Retrieves 8 Kanals of Land in Major Anti-Encroachment Drive

JAMMU, April 09, 2026: The Jammu Development Authority (JDA) successfully executed a large-scale anti-encroachment and demolition operation today, reclaiming approximately 8 kanals of prime government land across two strategic locations.

With the active support of the District Administration and enforcement teams, the drive targeted unauthorized constructions at Rathore Dhok in Nagrota and near the security headquarters in Sidhra. In Rathore Dhok, JDA officials demolished an unauthorized structure and several plinths to retrieve 3 kanals of land, while in Sidhra, five permanent unauthorized structures were dismantled to reclaim an additional 5 kanals.

The operation was carried out under the direct supervision of JDA Vice Chairman Rupesh Kumar, ensuring the smooth removal of illegal encroachments without disruption.

Following the successful recovery of the assets, the JDA issued a statement reiterating its firm stance against land grabbing and its commitment to safeguarding public property.

The authority confirmed that similar enforcement drives will continue across the region to ensure that government land is protected from illegal occupation and utilized strictly for planned public development.
