Jammu and Kashmir Weather Update: Rain Subsides Across J&K with Major Improvement Forecast from Tomorrow

SRINAGAR/JAMMU, April 8, 2026— Weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir have begun to stabilize following a 24-hour period of moderate rainfall in Jammu and light showers across most parts of the Kashmir Valley.

While precipitation levels have decreased significantly as of 10:00 AM today, the meteorological department predicts that cloudy skies will persist throughout the day, with scattered rain or thunderstorms likely to occur in several areas from the afternoon onwards.

A substantial improvement in weather is expected starting tomorrow, with no major rainfall predicted until at least April 15th, though isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms remains a possibility.

In light of these conditions, farmers are advised to postpone any chemical spraying until April 9th, as a more favorable window for agricultural activities is expected between April 10th and April 15th.

However, since spring weather patterns in April and May are notoriously unpredictable and can develop rapidly, residents and commuters are urged to check the latest road and weather status daily before planning any travel or outdoor operations.
