Omar Abdullah Pledges Rapid Development and Grievance Redressal During Legislative Meeting

JAMMU, April 7, 2026 — Chief Minister Omar Abdullah conducted a series of high-level meetings at the Civil Secretariat today, hosting several legislators and a Member of Parliament to discuss pressing developmental concerns and constituency-specific issues.

A prominent delegation from Ladakh, led by Member of Parliament Haji Mohd Haneefa Jan, met with the Chief Minister to deliberate on shared challenges and common interests concerning both Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The session underscored the government’s focus on maintaining open communication channels with elected representatives to ensure grassroots issues are elevated to the highest level of administration.

During the extensive interaction, a wide range of legislators apprised the Chief Minister of urgent public demands, including Vijay Kumar from Hiranagar, Rameshwar Singh from Bani, Mushtaq Guroo from Channapora, and Nazir Ahmed Khan Gurezi from Gurez.

Other representatives present included Shabir Ahmed Kullay (Shopian), Javaid Mirchal (Karnah), Thakur Randhir Singh (Kalakote-Sundarbani), Mehar Ali (Kangan), Balwant Singh Mankotia (Chenani), Mir Saifullah (Trehgam), Hasnain Masoodi (Pampore), Qaysar Jamsheed Lone (Lolab), and Sajad Shafi Uri (Uri).

These leaders emphasized that the grievances raised were of significant public importance, ranging from infrastructure needs to administrative bottlenecks that require immediate intervention.

Assuring the visiting delegations of time-bound redressal, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reiterated his administration’s steadfast commitment to equitable and inclusive development across all regions. He listened to each representative’s concerns and affirmed that all genuine public issues would be prioritized for resolution.

The Chief Minister emphasized that achieving balanced growth across the territory is a collective endeavor, promising that the government would work tirelessly to fulfill the developmental aspirations of the people while ensuring that no region is left behind in the pursuit of progress.
