Pulwama Police Conduct Awareness Workshop on POCSO Act 2012 for Child Safety

PULWAMA, April 07, 2026 — In a proactive move to bolster child protection and legal literacy, the Pulwama Police organized a comprehensive awareness programme focused on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, at the District Police Lines (DPL) Pulwama.

The initiative brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including Investigating Officers (IOs), Asha workers, and senior police officials, to refine the local response mechanism for sensitive cases involving minors.

Resource persons from the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama, including the Chief and Deputy Chief LADC, provided expert insights through detailed lectures on investigation protocols, victim protection strategies, and the critical necessity of timely legal interventions.

The workshop served as a vital platform to sensitize frontline responders about their specific roles in handling child-related cases with the necessary empathy and legal precision.
