Shiv Kumar Sharma Takes Charge as DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range

UDHAMPUR, April 6, 2026 — Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, has officially assumed the role of Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Udhampur–Reasi Range at the Range Police Headquarters in Udhampur.

Sharma takes over the position from Sarah Rizvi, IPS, following her recent appointment as the Inspector General of Police (Crime) for Jammu and Kashmir.
Immediately after taking office, the new DIG emphasized his core mission to provide dedicated, transparent, and corruption-free policing for the region.

He highlighted the vital importance of public trust in effective law enforcement, expressing his commitment to strengthening police-public partnerships to ensure lasting peace and the maintenance of law and order across the Udhampur-Reasi Range.
