CRPF Director General Honors 114 Bn RAF on Raising Day: Commending Decades of Distinguished Service

NEW DELHI, April 5, 2026 — The Director General of the CRPF, G. P. Singh, IPS, has extended his warmest greetings and best wishes to the Commandant and all ranks of the 114 Bn Rapid Action Force (RAF) on the occasion of their Raising Day.

Originally established on April 5, 1991, and later converted into a specialized RAF unit in 2018, the battalion has built a formidable reputation for maintaining law and order under challenging conditions.

DG Singh lauded the unit’s stellar professionalism and tactical restraint during high-stakes deployments, including the Kisan Andolan, the communal violence in Murshidabad, and the recent ethnic disturbances in Manipur, where their presence was instrumental in restoring peace.

Beyond their operational successes in riot control and internal security, the 114 Bn RAF has distinguished itself through exceptional welfare initiatives and cultural excellence.

The unit is home to the region’s “Most Promising” CRPF Women’s Welfare Association (CWA) and recently secured the top position for cultural performances at the CRPF Day Parade.

Saluting their “glorious service and dedication to the nation,” the Director General emphasized that the battalion’s multifaceted achievements—ranging from grassroots welfare to frontline duty—embody the core values of the force and continue to inspire the entire organization.
