Punjab Police Bust Major International Drug Syndicate: Record-Breaking MDMA and Cocaine Haul Seized in Tricity Raid
CHANDIGARH / LUDHIANA – In a significant crackdown on organized crime, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Punjab Police has successfully dismantled a sophisticated international drug trafficking network operating across the Tricity region (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula) and Ludhiana.
The high-stakes operation resulted in the arrest of six key operatives who were allegedly orchestrating the supply of high-potency, foreign-origin “party drugs” specifically targeting urban youth.
During the raid, authorities recovered a staggering 1,215 MDMA tablets—marking one of the largest single seizures of synthetic ecstasy in India—alongside 263 grams of Cocaine, 82 grams of Methamphetamine (ICE), 1.251 kg of THC variants, 16 grams of Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms), 400 grams of Opium, and ₹9 lakh in drug-tainted cash.
Preliminary investigations by the ANTF reveal that the syndicate utilized air courier channels to smuggle narcotics from overseas and relied on encrypted social media platforms to coordinate distribution while evading law enforcement detection.
As the Punjab Police maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy against the “menace of synthetic narcotics,” further investigations are currently underway to trace the international linkages and identify the broader network of associates involved in this cross-border criminal enterprise.
