GANDHINAGAR, Feb 06, 2026 – Underscoring India’s “Always Vigilant, Always Capable” defense posture, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, GOC-in-C of the Southern Command, witnessed the high-octane culmination of Exercise TATRAKSHA today.
The multi-agency integrated training exercise, which spanned three weeks, focused on perfecting coordinated responses in the strategic coastal and creek sectors.
By bringing together the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Border Security Force (BSF), and the Gujarat Marine Police, the exercise served as a critical validation of the country’s multi-layered maritime defense architecture and its ability to handle evolving security threats with precision.
The drill highlighted an exceptional level of Operational Synergy and Military-Civil Fusion, with the active participation of the civil administration ensuring a holistic approach to regional security.
The joint forces rehearsed complex scenarios, including rapid response mechanisms and synchronized tactical maneuvers across the full spectrum of coastal operations.
According to the Southern Command, the precision execution witnessed during the final phase confirms the decisive integrated capability of the joint forces to secure India’s western seaboard.
