LEH, February 5, 2026 — Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Fire and Fury Corps, conducted a high-level visit to the Siachen Brigade today to evaluate the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness.
At the world’s highest and most challenging battlefield, the GOC received comprehensive briefings on the strategic deployment and defense mechanisms currently in place.
His visit comes amid the military’s continued focus on strengthening high-altitude defense corridors and ensuring seamless logistics in the extreme sub-zero environment of the Karakoram Range.
During his interaction with the troops stationed at these forward posts, Lt Gen Bhalla lauded the “Glacier Warriors” for their unwavering courage, professionalism, and steadfast devotion to duty despite the oxygen-depleted terrain and brutal weather conditions.
He urged all ranks to remain at the pinnacle of operational excellence by integrating cutting-edge technology into their surveillance and combat strategies.
Reaffirming the Indian Army’s commitment to national security, the GOC exhorted the personnel to continue upholding the highest traditions of honor and selfless service while maintaining a vigilant eye on the borders.
