Republic Day Safety Measures: Flight Disruptions at Srinagar Airport; Key Air India, Air India Express, and Akasa Air Services Cancelled

SRINAGAR, Jan 22, 2026 — Flight operations at Srinagar Airport have been impacted today following the implementation of specialized airspace restrictions at Delhi Airport in preparation for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.

The Srinagar Airport Authority announced that three scheduled flights to and from the national capital have been grounded due to these mandatory security and ceremonial arrangements in New Delhi.The cancelled services include key morning and afternoon slots connecting Srinagar and Delhi: Air India (AI) flight AI1799, which was scheduled to arrive at 09:05 and depart at 09:45.

Air India Express (IX) flight IX1980, with a scheduled arrival of 14:10 and departure at 14:45.

Akasa Air (QP) flight QP1802, which was slated to arrive at 13:50 and depart at 14:30.

Airport authorities have expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by these mandatory security protocols.

Passengers booked on Delhi-bound flights are strongly urged to verify their current flight status directly with their respective airlines before heading to the terminal to avoid further delays or travel complications.
