Major IPS Reshuffle: Mukesh Singh Named New DGP Ladakh as MHA Orders Key Postings

NEW DELHI, JANUARY 02, 2026 — The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has issued a significant transfer and posting order for senior IPS officers of the AGMUT Cadre with immediate effect.

According to the official notification dated January 2, 2026, Mukesh Singh (IPS: 1996), upon his repatriation from Central Deputation, has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) for Ladakh.

This move comes as part of a broader reshuffle involving high-ranking officials across several regions.In addition to the Ladakh appointment, Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal (IPS: 1995), who was previously serving as the DGP of Ladakh, has been transferred to take over as the DGP of Arunachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Anand Mohan (IPS: 1994), the outgoing DGP of Arunachal Pradesh, has been reassigned to a new posting in Delhi. These orders, approved by the Competent Authority, are to remain in effect until further notice.
