Vice President CP Radhakrishnan arrives in Gangtok for Sikkim Statehood Day celebrations

GANGTOK, May 16, 2026 — Vice President CP Radhakrishnan arrived in Gangtok today to attend the official Sikkim Statehood Day celebrations.

Upon his arrival at Lok Bhavan, he was given a warm welcome by the Governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur, and the Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang, along with several other senior dignitaries.

The Vice President was also accorded a traditional guard of honour by the security forces as part of the welcoming ceremony, marking the commencement of his official visit to the Himalayan state for the historic occasion.
