UDHAMPUR: May 14, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa chaired a high-level meeting today to evaluate the availability of essential medicines and diagnostic services across public health institutions in the district.

The session focused on verifying medical stocks and assessing the progress of the Addiction Treatment Facility at Government Medical College Udhampur.

The meeting included participation from Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development Om Parkash, and various district and block-level medical officers.

During the briefing, the Chief Medical Officer provided updates on the current inventory of life-saving drugs and the functional status of diagnostic equipment available to the public.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed these reports to ensure that healthcare centers are well-equipped to meet the needs of the local population.

The status of the specialized treatment facility at GMC Udhampur was also scrutinized to ensure it remains a robust resource for those seeking medical intervention for substance use disorders.The Deputy Commissioner issued specific instructions to Block Medical Officers to intensify grassroots efforts against drug abuse.
