Udhampur Deputy Commissioner inspects lodgement centers and facilities for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026

UDHAMPUR, MAY 4: Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa conducted an extensive inspection of lodgement centers and community sanitary complexes along the National Highway today to evaluate the status of preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.

Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Umesh Shan, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the infrastructure and essential services being established for the pilgrims.

During the visit, it was confirmed that 31 lodgement centers have been strategically identified across the district to accommodate and facilitate the smooth movement of travelers.

The inspection focused on the augmentation of critical amenities, including drinking water supply, electricity, sanitation, and bedding capacity at each designated location.

The Deputy Commissioner issued strict instructions to the concerned departments to ensure foolproof arrangements, emphasizing the need for high hygiene standards and regular maintenance of cleanliness at all facilities.

He stressed that all basic amenities must be fully operational well in advance to prevent any inconvenience to the pilgrims, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to a safe and comfortable journey during the annual pilgrimage.
