Deputy Chief Minister reviews Shopian development projects and urges timely completion
SHOPIAN, MAY 4: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary conducted an extensive tour of the Zainapora constituency in Shopian district today to evaluate the progress of various ongoing development initiatives.
Accompanied by senior officials from the PWD, PMGSY, and Mechanical Engineering departments, the Deputy Chief Minister inspected the construction of a critical 45-meter span bridge on the Sugan–Chitragam–Zainapora road.
He issued firm instructions to the concerned authorities to maintain strict quality standards and expedite the work to ensure the bridge is dedicated to the public as soon as possible, thereby enhancing regional connectivity.
During his visit to Chitragam, the Deputy Chief Minister also assessed the construction of a new healthcare center, directing officials to finish ground leveling and accelerate building activities.
He reaffirmed the government’s priority to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure the seamless delivery of essential services to every citizen.
Additionally, he highlighted the importance of labor welfare, instructing the Assistant Labour Commissioner to organize registration camps for labor cards and ensure that all workers strictly follow safety protocols during project execution.
The tour also included a review of mining operations, where the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the need for an uninterrupted supply of construction materials while adhering strictly to environmental and mining regulations. He called for the active involvement of local representatives in project implementation to ensure transparency and meet public expectations.
Earlier in the day, the Deputy Chief Minister visited the residence of MLA Showkat Hussain Ganai in Chitragam to offer condolences on the passing of his mother, expressing solidarity with the bereaved family.
