Surinder Choudhary Inspects Progress of New Assembly Complex in Jammu
JAMMU, May 2, 2026—Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary conducted an inspection of the New Assembly Complex and several other vital infrastructure projects currently under development in Jammu.
During his visit, he emphasized the need for both speed and quality in completing the legislative building, noting its significant importance to the region. He directed officials to maintain high construction standards and strictly adhere to established deadlines to ensure the project stays on track.
The inspection tour also included a review of ongoing slab laying work over the nallah at Mecca Chowk in Bathindi. This specific project is designed to improve local connectivity and provide safer passage for residents in the area.
Choudhary urged the executing agencies to expedite their efforts to minimize any public inconvenience while maintaining the structural integrity of the work.
He reiterated that strengthening public infrastructure and addressing community needs remain central priorities for the government.In addition to site visits, the Deputy Chief Minister performed surprise inspections at the Chief Engineer’s Office of the PWD and the offices of the Deputy and Assistant Labour Commissioners in Jammu.
While reviewing their operations, he stressed the importance of accountability and responsiveness to public grievances. He called for more efficient service delivery across all departments, supported by senior officers who accompanied him during the evaluation of these key administrative and developmental tasks.
