State Election Commissioner Reviews Progress of Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision in Udhampur and Jammu

UDHAMPUR, April 18, 2026:-State Election Commissioner Shantmanu conducted an extensive tour of Udhampur and Jammu districts today to evaluate the progress of the ongoing Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls 2026.

During the visit, the Commissioner inspected special registration camps held at Panchayat Ghar Tikri, Mand East and West, and Garnai in Udhampur, as well as several locations in Jammu, including Panchayat Ghar Jhajhar Kotli and the BDO offices in Dansal and Nagrota.

He interacted with Booth Level Officers, Panchayat Election Booth Officers, and local panchayat members to gather feedback on the enrollment of newly eligible voters and to review the status of forms submitted for inclusions, deletions, corrections, and transpositions.

Shantmanu emphasized the critical importance of achieving 100 percent inclusion of all eligible voters to ensure the transparency and accuracy of the electoral process.

He directed officials to intensify outreach efforts during the revision period, ensuring that no deserving citizen is excluded from the rolls.

As part of the tour, the Commissioner also visited special migrant camps at the Zonal Office Relief in Udhampur and Jagti Township in Nagrota, where he met with residents and authorities to discuss the specific challenges of the enrollment process.

Accompanied by senior officers from the State Election Commission and district administrations, the Commissioner reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a highly inclusive and robust democratic framework at the grassroots level.
