Samba Police Seize Three Dumpers in Crackdown Against Illegal Mining

SAMBA, AUGUST 08, 2026 — In a major move to curb unauthorized extraction and transport of construction materials, Samba Police seized three dumpers operating within the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba. The crackdown reflects the department’s ongoing drive to strictly enforce environmental regulations and put an end to illegal mining activities across the district.

The operations were executed during routine patrolling by law enforcement teams led by the Station House Officer of Police Station Samba, alongside the in-charges of the Supwal and Mansar Police Posts. While monitoring their respective jurisdictional sectors, the officers intercepted three heavy vehicles bearing registration numbers JK21H-5678, JK21G-6049, and JK21K-1717. All three dumpers were actively engaged in the unauthorized mining and transit of minor mineral construction supplies without valid permits.

Following their formal seizure by police authorities, the confiscated vehicles were handed over to the Geology & Mining Department in Samba for detailed investigation and appropriate legal action under the relevant statutory provisions. District authorities reiterated that strict surveillance will persist to deter illegal extraction operations and protect natural resources across the region.
