Northern Railway Completes CRS Safety Inspection for Katra to Srinagar Rail Line

Jammu, August 07,2026 — The Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety, Dinesh Chand Deshwal, completed a detailed safety inspection of the rail section between Katra and Srinagar as part of the Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link Project.

Accompanied by Divisional Railway Manager Jammu Vivek Kumar, the Chief Administrative Officer, and other senior officials, the team closely examined the track infrastructure, tunnels, bridges, stations, signaling systems, passenger amenities, and emergency management protocols along the route from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar.

Following the review, the Chief Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the overall construction quality and safety standards across the section while directing officials to maintain top priority on passenger safety and comfort.

Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar affirmed that the railway administration will address all suggestions provided by the safety commissioner within the stipulated timeframe to facilitate the prompt commencement of passenger services along the crucial rail link.
