GOC White Knight Corps Visits Sainik School Nagrota: New Sports Facilities and Library Inaugurated Alongside Chinar Primary School Investiture Ceremony
NAGROTA, AUGUST 08, 2026: Sainik School Nagrota witnessed a landmark day of institutional development and student empowerment during an official visit by Lieutenant General P K Mishra, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps, alongside Archana Mishra, Zonal President AWWA White Knight Corps. The visit underscored the deep-rooted relationship between the Indian Defence Forces and Sainik School Nagrota, offering cadets and young learners a direct opportunity to draw inspiration from senior military leadership. Demonstrating a strong commitment to upgrading the institution’s athletic infrastructure, Lieutenant General P K Mishra inaugurated state-of-the-art synthetic tennis, volleyball, basketball, and badminton courts. These newly established sports facilities are designed to offer cadets systematic training environments, foster sportsmanship, and support overall physical fitness and competitive preparation.
A major highlight of the visit was the presentation of the GOC’s Medallion for Distinguished Service to four exemplary staff members in recognition of their dedication to academic and administrative excellence. The prestigious honors were awarded to Sandeep Kumar, Senior Master and PGT Chemistry; Saroj Kumar Thakur, Lab Assistant; Mahendra Singh Chauhan, PA to Principal; and Chunni Lal, GE Mason. This gesture brought into sharp focus the vital role civilian staff play in sustaining high academic standards and school infrastructure. To mark the occasion, the official school magazine, The Chinar, was formally released by the dignitaries.
Concurrently, Archana Mishra presided over the Investiture Ceremony at Chinar Primary School, the junior wing of Sainik School Nagrota, where young student leaders officially assumed their leadership roles.
