Samba administration reviews civic amenities at Amarnath Yatra lodgement centres

SAMBA, May 16, 2026 :- Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan conducted an extensive inspection of the lodgement centres established for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 at Chichi Mata, Nonath Ashram, and the Diani Transit Camp in Samba district.

The inspection focused on reviewing the ongoing arrangements to ensure a convenient and smooth stay for the pilgrims. The assessment covered essential facilities including sanitation, drinking water supply, electricity, lighting, toilets, bathing units, accommodation halls, and backup power systems across all designated transit locations.

Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Singh and other departmental officers, the Deputy Commissioner directed all stakeholder departments to complete the pending infrastructure works on time and maintain close coordination for the hassle-free management of the pilgrimage.

During the visit to the Chichi Mata lodgement centre, the team evaluated the progress of works aimed at upgrading the overall accommodation capacity.

At Nonath Ashram, instructions were issued to guarantee uninterrupted water and power supply alongside strict cleanliness protocols, while officials at the Diani Transit Camp were ordered to ensure all essential facilities are fully operational well before the official commencement of the annual yatra.
