Rajouri Police Book Habitual Drug Peddler Under Strict PIT-NDPS Act
RAJOURI, JULY 29— In a major move under its ongoing zero-tolerance crackdown on drug trafficking, the Rajouri Police booked a habitual drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act.
The offender, identified as Gagandeep Sharma, a resident of Ward No. 09 near Old Shiv Mandir in Nowshera, was formally detained by Police Station Nowshera after a warrant was secured from the competent authority. Despite being named in multiple previous NDPS Act cases, Sharma allegedly continued his involvement in illegal narcotics trafficking.
Following the execution of the detention warrant and completion of all legal formalities, the police lodged him in the District Jail to prevent further criminal activity and reinforce their commitment to making Rajouri a drug-free district.
