President Droupadi Murmu Meets Artists Under Artists in Residence Programme at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi, July 29: President Droupadi Murmu met a group of traditional Indian artists and witnessed their work during a special interaction at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Twelve artists representing various traditional art forms, including Banaras Mural, Thangka, Nayaka, Kerala Mural, Basohli, Surpur, and Mysore painting, are currently staying at the presidential estate as part of the Artists-in-Residence initiative.

The Artists-in-Residence Programme serves as a celebration of the spirit of India’s rich artistic heritage. By offering a platform to diverse traditional art forms, the initiative reaffirms the vital role living art traditions play in preserving cultural identity and inspiring future generations across the nation.
