Assam Flood Relief: Indian Army Rescues Over 1,000 Civilians Under Operation Jal Rahat

GUWAHATI, ASSAM JULY 29 — Amidst severe flooding across the state, the Indian Army’s Spear Corps continues to carry out extensive humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations under Operation Jal Rahat. Working in close coordination with the civil administration, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local agencies, army personnel are deploying both ground forces and innovative logistic drones to navigate inundated terrain and reach stranded families in remote areas.

Since the launch of Operation Jal Rahat, the Indian Army has successfully rescued more than 1,000 civilians, provided vital medical aid to over 200 individuals, and distributed 19 tonnes of food grains. Additionally, troops have delivered over 30,500 food packets, more than 43,000 liters of drinking water, along with fresh vegetables, milk, clothing, and essential hygiene kits to affected communities, reaffirming their commitment to restoring connectivity and providing critical relief across the state.
