PM Narendra Modi’s Special Message Pamphlets Welcomed by Shri Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims at Nunwan and Baltal Camps
SRINAGAR, JULY 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Administration on Friday distributed pamphlets featuring a special message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to devotees undertaking the holy Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) at both the Nunwan and Baltal base camps. Extending his heartfelt greetings, the Prime Minister described the annual pilgrimage as a profound spiritual journey and an eternal symbol of India’s rich cultural unity, spiritual heritage, and selfless service. He noted that the Yatra, which begins on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, brings together citizens from diverse regions, languages, and traditions under a shared devotion to Lord Mahadev, thereby reinforcing the enduring strength of Sanatan culture.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi highly commended the Jammu & Kashmir Government and the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board for their seamless management of the pilgrimage. He expressed deep gratitude to the Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces, J&K Police, disaster response teams, healthcare workers, and sanitation staff for their tireless efforts in ensuring public safety. Furthermore, the PM lauded the local residents and voluntary organizations for their exceptional hospitality and for setting up community kitchens (langars), highlighting this selfless dedication as a true reflection of the civilizational ideal, “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah.”
Urging pilgrims to champion responsible citizenship, the Prime Minister called upon them to embrace five distinct pledges during the 2026 Yatra: maintaining strict cleanliness along the routes, prioritizing personal safety by following administrative guidelines, supporting local livelihoods by spending at least ten percent of their budget on regional products, promoting environmental conservation through the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, and strengthening nation-building with a “Nation First” mindset. Expressing optimism that this year’s Yatra would grandly celebrate faith and unity, PM Modi prayed for the blessings of Baba Barfani upon all. The receptive pilgrims warmly received the message, noting that the Prime Minister’s thoughtful gesture has greatly elevated their spiritual resolve and enthusiasm for the sacred trek.
