Ladakh youth depart for skill training and employment program in New Delhi
LEH, July 3, 2026 — A group of 36 talented youth from across Ladakh, including 34 girls, has been sent to New Delhi for employment-linked skill training at the GMR Varalakshmi Centre for Empowerment and Livelihoods.
The selection of a high number of female participants aligns with the national vision of empowering women through targeted skill development. For the majority of these young individuals, this initiative marks the first time they have traveled outside of Ladakh.
The initiative aims to equip regional youth with market-oriented skills that align with current industry requirements, creating direct pathways for gainful employment in organized sectors.
The fully sponsored residential programme features assured placement assistance, which is expected to help the participants build successful careers and contribute to the economic growth of Ladakh.
Officials complimented the organization for its commitment to the social cause and wished the participants a successful future ahead as they work toward becoming self-reliant.
