Indian Army Concludes Participation in Multilateral Peacekeeping Exercise Khaan Quest 2026
NEW DELHI JULY 03,2026 :- The Indian Army has successfully concluded its participation in the 23rd edition of the multilateral joint military exercise, Khaan Quest 2026, which took place from June 20 to July 3, 2026, at the Five Hills Training Area in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Bringing together over 1,000 troops from 18 nations, the comprehensive training event served as a vital global platform to enhance operational readiness, strengthen interoperability, and reinforce standard operating procedures for United Nations peace support operations under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
The exercise featured rigorous Command Post and Field Training components, tracking its evolution from a 2003 US-Mongolia bilateral event into a premier multilateral peacekeeping framework. Throughout the joint maneuvers, the Indian Army contingent demonstrated exceptional professionalism and tactical discipline across simulation-based scenarios, while also hosting a vibrant cultural display that highlighted India’s rich heritage and the foundational philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World is One Family).
The closing ceremony was attended by top Mongolian defense officials, including Deputy Minister of Defence Maj Gen Baasandamba Dashtseden and Chief of General Staff Lt Gen Ganbyamba Sunrev, who praised the dedication of all international participants. Upon the successful completion of the drills, the Indian Army expressed its formal appreciation to the Government and Armed Forces of Mongolia, noting that the collaborative experience will vastly improve joint operational effectiveness and deepen long-term defense ties among the participating global partners.
