SRINAGAR, Aug 07: The meteorological department has issued a weather update for Jammu and Kashmir predicting widespread rain and thundershowers over the coming days. On August 7 and 8, one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at many locations, along with brief intense showers at a few places.

Precipitation is forecasted to intensify between August 9 and 11, bringing light to moderate rain or thundershowers to most places, alongside heavy to very heavy rainfall in select districts of the Jammu division and brief intense heavy showers in parts of the Kashmir division. A possibility of light rain or thundershowers at many places, accompanied by brief intense showers at isolated spots, will continue from August 12 to 17.

In light of the weather predictions, an official advisory has been issued warning of potential heavy to very heavy rainfall and brief intense downpours across several districts between August 9 and 11.
