Two Drug Peddlers Arrested With Heroin and Cash in Katra
REASI, June 26 — Reasi Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered 21 grams of heroin, cash amounting to ₹40,000, and a digital weighing scale during a routine checkpoint inspection in the Katra area. The operation was part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan.
The arrests were made on June 26, 2026, when a police party from Police Post Kakryal stopped two individuals for inspection. The suspects were identified as Sahil Gill, son of Rajesh Kumar Gill, a resident of Amritsar, Punjab, and Mintu Kumar, son of Hans Raj, a resident of Kakryal, Katra.
Following the recovery of the contraband and cash, Case FIR No. 209/2026 was registered at Police Station Katra under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and forward links of the recovered narcotics.
Reasi Police reiterated their commitment to making the district drug-free and urged the public to share information related to drug trafficking.
