NIA Arrests Prime Accused in March 2026 West Bengal Bomb Explosion Case
New Delhi, 26th April 2026:- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested Ahidul Islam Molla, a key co-conspirator and prime accused in the March 2026 bomb explosion case that occurred in West Bengal.
The incident, which took place at Dakshin Bamunia village under the Bijoyganj Bazar Police Station in the South 24 Parganas district, resulted in the death of one individual and left three others seriously injured. The arrest followed a detailed examination of Molla’s specific role in the explosion, marking a significant breakthrough in the investigation.
According to NIA investigations, the explosion occurred while the suspects were actively preparing bombs as part of a larger conspiracy. Ahidul Islam Molla, a resident of the Bijoyganj Bazar area, has been identified as a central figure in both the preparation of the explosive devices and the subsequent destruction of evidence.
The agency noted that the individual killed in the blast was actually one of the accused involved in the crime, who died when the bombs detonated prematurely during the manufacturing process. This arrest follows earlier action by the state police, who had previously taken another accused individual into custody.
The NIA took over the case to probe the deeper conspiracy behind the manufacturing of these explosives. Currently, the agency is continuing its investigation under case number RC-09/2026/NIA/DLI to uncover further links and ensure all individuals involved in the conspiracy are brought to justice.
